With a last name like Payne, you simply gotta OWN IT with a sense of humor and a playful outlook on life.
Early Spanish explorers gave Dolores its namesake, meaning “Sorrow.” The way we see it, Payne and Sorrow are a perfect match to flip the script and create a little piece of paradise in this little town steeped with history and beauty.
Our Story
In 2021, Sarah Payne and her partner, Lee Hallberg, joined forces to reimagine the way professionals can achieve a work-life balance. Our aim is to reimagine the work-life balance, providing you with the perfect basecamp in downtown Dolores where the convenience of local watering holes and the best outdoor adventures are at your fingertips.
Lee's craftsmanship and business acumen, paired with Sarah’s mad skills in the realm of art, history, and education, make us friendly, knowledgeable, hospitable hosts.
Our family lives next door in case you need a cuppa sugar or a friendly face for directions.
